There are currently fifty riders in the pack around with suspicious blood. Said Pat MacQuaid. Thanks to the biological blood passports. associations, teams and riders, this week informed. According to McQuaid, the list the necessary impact on the composition of teams for the Tour de France. I can not imagine that any of these riders come to the Tour de France, said the Irishman. We have passport composed by experts.

No, they just follow 50 riders, including all top riders. Only a few of these 50 have suspicious values.

An interesting flip side to the whole doping story in its many guises

From Velonews, seems Astana have suspended Assan Bazayev for 15 days due to poor or incorrect "whereabouts" information and thats why he missed the Tour De Suisse

http://www.velonews.com/article/93413/why-did-astana-s-assan-bazayev-not-start-the-tour-de-suisse

Commencement of first disciplinary proceedings on the basis of the biological passport:

Looks like UCI has started using the biological passport and the spainards and italians are the first to feel it ,-)

"They" are saying that there are more to come.. I also personally thinks that it is the right to do here before The Tour, but I'm sad that a guy like Boonen wan't be a part of the tour because of his "drug-mistake".. 'Coke' isen't doping..

I'm sorry for saying his name, but how have Fuglsang becomed so good as he are right now.. ? Can someone give me a doping-test from him, so that I can relax..

Pff, well we know that he's U23 world champion in mountainbiking, his riding style is very efficient(no Kohl or Chris Anker waggling), he doesn't seem to make many mistakes, he has had off days and climbing with the best(though they weren't in top shape) has probably motivated him.

Apart from that we'll have to put our faith in the system and its improved effort against doping.

Dekker is tested postive for EPO.

Apparently on the 24th of december 2007. It seems he felt the need to run really fast around the tree

Anyways good game Dekker. It seems there was a reason Rabobank didnt want him afterall.....

Family is more exhausting that(EDIT: than) riding 200Kms a day.

Voigt uses cycling as an excuse to escape his many children and wife.

EDIT: What's up with all of my typos of late? I ought to be ashamed.

the biggest problem for me here is the same as when Ricco got caught - why the young ones? I can understand some of the old riders that grew up under the doping regime have a hard time changing old habbits - but young guys like Dekker and Ricco should know better! They've seen what our beloved sport has been dragged through since '98, and yet they CONTINUE to do what they can to ruin the sport they live for / off....

Stupidity at its highest level - why spend 10 years killing yourself as a junior / amateur rider, just to turn into a doping wreck and risk not only your carreer but also the whole sport, the moment you turn pro...

disheartening is the word that springs into mind

This type of riders do not do it of love to the sport, they do it for the love of wining and for that reason deserve anything they got coming to them when caught.

Oh and shame on Lotto for their questionable rider hiring policy, they were warned.

Don't blame Lotto, they're just a bit stupid
Just look at their tactics at the Belgian Championship (and some other races), you'll see why they don't win that often.

Maybe the older riders don't get caught because they are more experienced cheaters than the young cheaters? We can't be naive: doping is in every sport and people of all ages use it. You can say that this is the clean generation who didn't grow up with doping use, but I fear there's still doping use in youth categories too (though what did please me was that Kohl said that there wasn't doping on Rabobank CT).

Maybe this generation is cleaner, but you'll always have cheaters who ruin it for the others.

http://tour2009.nos.nl/video/bekijken/id/tcm:5-536499/mart-smeets-over-thomas-dekker

Very strange interview with Mart Smeets. He thinks there's more to the Dekker case and says that Breukink has to come clean. He also thinks there will be more positive cases during the next days. Very strange...

By the way, Clement Lhotellerie from the Vacansoleil team is the next positive rider. Luckily Vacansoleil wouldn't ride the Tour anyway.

What's happening again, right before the Tour? I'm happy none of the Saxo riders are named, that would be a disaster, but still, all these rumours are very sad
