With recent reports about Vino comig back after his susoension ends on July 24, it will be very interesting to see who wins the power battle at Astana.
Vino claims he set the team up and will be riding in Poland and the Vuelta in Astana colors. |

I'm pretty sure that there will be no Saxo riders between them, but still I have a very uncomfortable feeling... It's just sad this always has to happen just before the Tour, at the moment when the whole world looks at the cycling world an then says "this is the most doped sport", while this is just a sign that this sport is fighting against it.

yeah, thats what makes me angry as well - and the worst part is that UCI and WADA is doing it - not the press - I wish they would open these cases in December instead...then we'd have some drama for the off-season as well...
I don't think there are any Saxo riders among them either, but apparently some of the cases should be from Romandie and tour of Suisse, so its only going to be a hope from me right now...

Vino is quoted as saying "This team was created for me and thanks to my efforts... If Bruyneel does not want me, it will be Bruyneel who is leaving the team."

It is going to be very amusing to watch Astana and see which team will Contador go to, will Lance start his own team (and will Levi follow him), which rider will Bruyneel follow, and will there be any team left for Vino to lead at the start of next season. Kloden will probably stay to ride with Vino, but he could go somewhere else too.

LOL, can't argue with that.

I mean, I'd rather get the dopers caught before the Tour than during I suppose?

WADA and the UCI has to show, that they are worth the money... Without knowing that much about where they get funds from, I would asume they need to look affective, and that is best done on the largest stage... |

The "4 to 7 riders will be busted" thing has been brought up by L'Equipe. The UCI say it's not true. However if there's something to be revealed "before the Tour", we'll know today.
Vino's anouncement about him going to Astana and that the Hog has to go if he doesn't follow suit - Just more evidence towards the existence of a new "Livestrong-Nike" team (or whatever the name will be) for 2010. I guess we see JB/LA take the pro tour license, Contador go to GCE and Astana with their new capt'n Vino drown into 2nd class.

Here's the CN article about Menchov:
Denis Menchov travelled to Vienna, Austria, last month to answer questions from investigators concerning his alleged involvement with the blood clinic "Human Plasma". The name of the Russian Rabobank rider has been mentioned in connection with the blood-doping circle in Austria.
"Since we received a request from the Austrian authorities, the concerned riders have immediately expressed their unreserved cooperation to be heard under oath," team spokesman Luuc Eisenga told Cyclingnews. Austrian authorities have confirmed "that this is on a voluntary basis. As long as the investigation is ongoing, we cannot comment.
"Further, we have no reason to believe that one of the Rabobank team members has done anything that conflicts with our no-compromise zero tolerance policy," Eisenga continued. "In the case that we would ever have to doubt the integrity of a team member, we will act immediately."
The team did not believe that the matter had anything to do with the Giro d'Italia winner's showing in the opening time trial on Sunday. He finished 1:31 slower than winner Fabian Cancellara, which put him in 53rd place. "I have the right condition, "Menchov said. "I have no explanation for my poor chrono."

A little bit of history they said in the "Tour de France Studiet"..
We has to go back to 2003 to find a simular scenario about doping-affairs in the TDF..
We have gone so long, withone one single positive doping test..
I don't know about the anti-doping-program has helped or the blood-pas, but it's stil history...
So I guess we will hope it continues?..
