I also hope the story is not true. Biver already wanted to sign the Schlecks 3 years ago. But I don't trust Biver
I quote myself quote: Posted - 13/06/2007 : 19:14:25 Astana: Manager Marc Biver Nationality: Luxembourg
Marc Biver was the manager of Alex Zülle
http://www.objectifreussir.ch/fr/cadre_repertoire/Interview/Personnalites/Marc_Biver/marc_biver.html
He is from my country, but I don't really trust him.
There is no relation between the Schleck Brothers and Marc Biver. I think Marc Biver was interested in the Schleck brothers, but they wan't to stay with CSC. Also Kim Kirchen wanted to stay with the New T Mobile team. Only Benoit Joachim (Lux) signed Astana. Joachim is the only Lux rider with an positive doping A sample (riding with Lance in US Postal). Due to an procedual error with the B Sample he was not punished. (As far as I remember)
On the other side the story could be true. It would be a luxembourgish team. Kim lives since years in Luxembourg (isn't he engaged to a local TV animatrice ?). Biver is from Luxembourg and made his money in Switzerland with watches. A few new sponsors from Luxembourg are interested to invest money. Arcelor Mittal was a sponsor for Astana, but they stopped at the same time when Biver was not there anymore. Lopes (ex SKYPE Investor) who bought F1 Renault team is investing a lot of money in sports (F1and soccer team) and he created a investing sport agency is searching for new aims. And finally the Schlecks are from Luxembourg and Cancellara stays also much here. Maybe Riis has not enough money to sign both and his new sponsor wants Contador so that there would be no more space for the Schlecks.
I hope the Schlecks won't work together with Biver, but Biver is smart and clever. |

Whatelse should they say now?
Nobody will comment or even confirm it seriously within the next couple of month. So all we will hear, read and so on in the near future will remain pure speculation and media (research) tactics.
A quite normal situation/discussion in nowadays media world, until the sponsor situation for 2011 will be clear. |

Seems like you're right--here's the latest:
(CN) Former Astana team manager Marc Biver has admitted he is in talks with a Luxembourg company about creating a team around Fränk and Andy Schleck for 2011.
The brothers have promised to wait until after the Tour de France before abandoning current team manager Bjarne Riis but the Dane has yet to find a replacement for Saxo Bank, who will end their backing of his team at the end of the current season.
It seems that Biver has been working on the idea of a Luxembourg team lead by the Schlecks for some time, perhaps as far back as November.
Speaking to the L'Equipe on Saturday, Biver said: "A Luxembourg synergy would make sense, but I haven't asked for anything specific yet and no decision has been taken."
"Before thinking about any possible agreement, I requested financial, contractual and ethical guarantees. I've given the Luxembourg group until April 15 to provide them. I need time to be able to create something serious."
Biver was manager of the Astana team that was forced to leave the Tour de France in disgrace after Alexandre Vinokourov tested positive for blood doping in 2007. Andrey Kashechkin also failed a blood test after the Tour de France, while Matthias Kessler tested positive for testosterone in April and Eddy Mazzoleni was suspended for his involvement in the Oil For Drugs investigation in Italy. John Bruyneel was eventually brought in to save the team, only to leave himself last year to create the RadioShack team with Lance Armstrong.
"The Schlecks have nothing to do with Vinokourov and Kashechkin, just like Luxembourg is not Kazakhstan..." Biver told l'Equipe, rebutting any similarities between any new Luxembourg team and the old Astana squad built around Vinokourov.

Let's pray that Riis find a sponsor quickly then.

He mostly says what we already knew: he has been talking about a Luxemburg team, but there's nothing concrete yet. He hasn't talked with the Schlecks. The project still has a long way to go before getting real.

Those are the wrong languages for me, too---
someone, translate please!!
And what sense does it make for them to go to BMC where they'd have to vie with Cadel Evans for leadership on the team?

And where the support isn't nearly as good as at Saxo, in the mountains. It seems like Rihs wants to steal Riis' riders.
It doesn't make sense to me either. I just hope that Trey Greenwood starts negotiating with those possible sponsors fast.

The article does not say, that they are going to leave for the already existing Team BMC.
Rihs and some very rich Lux-business men were talking about creating a completely new team where BMC is supposed to be the bicycle partner. It seems, that this has nothing to do with the current Team BMC. But this possible new team will probably also affect the "old" BMC team. |

and now my rumor is conformed. Don't take the article too serious, i don't think Lopes talked already with the Schleck brothers, he just visited Rihs in Switzerland. These business man meet sometimes. and by the way not everything Lopes is trying to do is a success, he intended to buy Saab, but was also not successful |
