Yes! Contador himself said before the tour that he really wanted to stay with Astana, then suddenly changed his mind.
Another thing is that Contador probably is a worse deal then the brothers. Their pay isn't as big as Contadors (even combined) and they can wi both GCs and hilly classics (maybe Contador can to, but he has never really tried)
So yes. I really think Riis didn't start thinking about having Contador to the team until he found out about the Lux-projct, which Brian Nygaard has started taking shape around tour of flanders.

It was just a joke. But if all these rumours and speculation about the new Schleck-team were true, it would be a dream team, because most of the riders would be from Saxo Bank. Maybe Bjarne should try to buy that team back  |

But you're right... But on the other hand im looking forward to see our "new" team!!! For the last couple of seasons we havent brought in new established riders... so for me its quite interesting...
Of course loosing Stuey and Jensi wont be good, BUT I must admit that they are EXTREMELY (sry folks) old and that there performance will only decrease in the future!!!
I hope that Riis can hold onto riders like Porte, A.Rasmussen & Klemme!

I have several things to say and a lot of question or you guys.
First of all, I'm very deceived that the Schlecks are leaving the Saxo team after all this team did for them and all they give to the dane team since CSC time. I know that things liek tha can happen beacause the cyclism chnaged a lot espcecially in the 2000s. But I find this a lil a bit sorry because the Schlecks was still young especially Andy and keep them was not very difficult with a team to help them.
Now I think the likely arrival of Contador for the new Riis team is a very good thign for him. He can win a lot of races and GT like Tour de France . We know Riis aims at that above all. So sign the number 1 ad the avorite of each TOur de France is a very good stratéegy for his new team. The SPonsor psecialized will pay Contador and Riis takes the rest of the team with some gregari of Contados in addition to this like Navarro.
Next year, the new saxo team going to chang a lot, without Schlecks, xith Contador and his boys, new sponsor (Sungard, Siemens...) and mabe less danish than prevoius years. Wait and see about that but I think some Danes goin to join others teams like Breschel.
I would like to know who has his end of contract this year. Theses datas has a very important role for the names of the riders next year. People talk about Cancelara leaving. Is it really possible, He has a contract still. Who really wants to go ? wants to stay ?
About the new Schlecks team, they have a lot of elements to consider. We see this yearthat when a leader leaves fo other team there s a total change in all the teams. We gonna see this team at the mercato and especially because somme historical teams are in a very dificult situation and nees sponsors quickly. Some of them like Euskatel, Milram or Caisse d'Epargne seem in really bad situation.
In this case, teh arrival of a new team with big sponsors and big leaders like Schlecks goin to attract famous riders and somme gregari rom theses kind of teams. Some cyclism specialist announce in the Lux team people like Gerdeman , Ciolek, Wegman, Frolinger, Feuillu brothers in addition to the Saxo rumours like Voigt, Cancelara, Didier, O'Grady, Fuglsang.
Next year, teams like riders, there will be a new cyclism hierarchy beacause of Contador, schlecks, Menchov leaving, the cescendo o teams like Vacansoleil, Sojasun and the disapearance of Milram, saxo sponsorship maybe CGE and the trasferts in teams like HTC, Astana, Radioschack or Sky

I think it would be perfect to see Contador in the team. He is more of a winner than the Schleck brothers. I am more worried about losing such riders as Fuglsang and Breschel. Losing Cancellara would be a disaster!

20 million is a huge budget. With all the attention this has gotten, I still have not seen too much quetions or speculation on who the Team Luvx sopnsor will be.
Does anyone know or heard any rumours?
