Acordning to this article: http://politiken.dk/sport/cykling/article972548.ece Sungard will sign as main sponsor. This should be made public during Tour of California.

(Article is in danish, but Google translate is your friend)

Hold your horses. It's still just a rumour.

Another site: http://www.sporten.dk/tour-de-france-etaperne/avis-riis-har-fundet-ny-sponsor writes that Trey Greenwood said that it wasn't true. So lets see. I really hope it's true though, it's about time for a sponsor.

I just think it's weird that it is somebody called Kasper Sørensen from Århus, not riis-cycling, Brian Reimer (It supporter in Riis-cycling) or anonomus. I hope the sponsor issue is solved, but this could very well be somebody trying to make money on the domainname or create a false site or something like that - but I hope it's the real deal...

Call me dumb--what's the domain thing that's posted? Is it like a registration form for a website?

And this...

On the domain thing: it shows who has registered the domain name. It's a person in Denmark that doesn't realy seem to be linked to Riis cycling, so it might be someone has registered it hoping to be able to sell it to Riis in the case of a sponsorship agreement. Or it has been registered by the person because he has been asked by Riis in order to keep it hidden. I think the cashing-in version is more likely, but we'll see.

On the article. Come on, use googe translater!

Ouch! Man, sorry I asked!

The work computer I'm on has a filter that won't allow us to access googLe translate. Not sure why, but it's how it is set up. Guess I'll just wait until I can get on a different computer, but thanks for all your help.

It's not that much, Riis says things are looking good and he hopes to present a new sponsor at the Tour de France. No confirmation, no denial.

And lighten up, didn't mean to blast you at all.

This is what the article says....

The website www.team-sungard.com is reportedly been sold, but if it means that U.S. IT company Sungard from New Year's change of status from co-sponsors for the main sponsor of Bjarne Riis' cycling team, the team owner does not confirm.

He dares however guarantee almost since that money is bound for the Danish team whose survival depends on a sponsor who will throw an estimated 10 million dollars annually for a cycling team.

- I hope to announce the name of a new sponsor before the Tour de France, says Bjarne Riis.

- It looks good, but I can not say much more than that. We have good topics on the table, and we are obviously some things.

- First and foremost it is important to keep calm, "said Riis, who denies that the privy fire, and that time is running out for the Danish team.

Riis, few riders under contract for next year and believes he does not soon a new sponsor, will posted proof of riders including top riders Andy and Frank Schleck and Matti Breschel and Jacob Fulgsang, see themselves forced to seek employment elsewhere.

The vast majority of contracts awarded in the sport during and immediately after the Tour de France, which this year begins the third July.

Thank you, Just!

So pretty much nothing new at all--been saying what he's been saying for awhile now. Well when CSC left, Saxo was announced as the next sponsor on June 10 (mine and Andy Schleck's birthday)...so maybe I'll get lucky again this year!
