Not bad news - Sungard, Telenor, Ericsson meet Riis and Greenwood at Tour de France.

Sounds like good news, but at this point it'd be nice to have a confirmation of something

Yeah, I'm not getting hopes up at all anymore---

Riis has said he's optimistic so much these past few months, but clinging to optimism after the Tour has started isn't enough for me personally....

...but it is what our riders need, so i do feel a little bad.

To be fair, they've before announced sponsors on the rest day / after the tour, so lets see what happens

true....

i'm so superstitious that if I get my hopes up, i think it'll be for nothing. so if i don't get my hopes up, things might work out better!

Nothing will be announced until the end of the Tour. Riis was interviewed in L'Equipe 3 days ago. He said that he was confident he could find a new sponsor but nothing is signed yet. He's in talks with several companies at the moment, but if a deal is done it won't be before the end of the Tour. According to Riis the results in this Tour aren't so important to find a new sponsor.

We've been fed the "I'm confident" routine for how many months now?

According to Danish paper ekstrabladet..... Sungaard will be announced as new head sponsor for team Riis.

BUT

The Andy and Frank are gone though. Have signed deal with the new Lux team.

I'll take that deal any day. Yes, we will miss Andy and Frank so much that its hard to bare - I mean, we created them fostered them, they are part of the family - but the team exists next year, and we'll have new favorites, new stars, a new beginning!

Very good news indeed if confirmed.

Of course we will miss the Schlecks but the adventure continues and this is the most important thing. We still have Fabian and other good riders contracted, now we must try to keep our danish talents and then it will be time to recruit new riders with a GC leader.

If Andy does win............I wonder how much the new Lux team are going to have to pay him ;-)

It might help to keep the team alive if him and Frank leave. Obviously I'd rather they stayed

Honesty is the best Policy!!
