I Just wanted to make a new thread about the riders we either want or have head rumors about joining the team, since I think the other thread was thought as a factual thread by KD Teammate.
I'll start out by saying I really hope that the rumours grom last year, about Fedrigo joining the team will come true this year. He seems like a really good rider in hills and also in a break or maybe as a helper in the mountains.
His contract with Bbox runs ends this year, and he has expressed that he wants to leave.
At the same time Bbox doesn't have a sponsor for next year yet. |

I think Bbox have found a sponsor in Vendee (mostly cause of the 2 stage victorys and the Polka dot jersey), it is also the place were the TdF starts next year. He has also been talking with FDJ, but i hope he will come. If we take Alberto Contador i think we will also take Daniel Navarro.

Me too!
But Van Den Broeck will be really hard to get. He feels comfortable at Lotto and has a decent team where he is the only captain for the Tour. The only way Riis could get him is by offering a higher paycheck, I think.

I don't think that the two mentioned Frenchmen and recent stage winners will join Riis' team. First of all, I don't think they fit in with Riis' philosophy about team spirit, since they're both used to have free roles, meaning that they can do almost whatever they want. Secondly, there's no doubt that there will be heavy competition from all the French teams, as a national hero - naturally - is rather good for business. Besides, Fedrigo has apparently stated that he wishes to continue his career in France to the day he retires. A similar argument (not forgetting the good ones from sander) is likely to apply to Van Den Broeck, as he is presumably just as happy with staying on a Belgian squad as his team are happy with him. However, Barredo has for many years been a rider, whom I like, and he has certainly shown that he can work for the team, for instance when he loyally brought Chavanel to Avoriaz before Armstrong. And an addition: Cunego. With a much, much stronger team, and a more focused preparation for the Tour (by not aiming for the Giro as well) he could be a GC-contender - probably not on the same level as the team is used to, though... But I have to admit that Cunego is ranked below the riders that we know for certain can perform well in the Tour. However, I would prefer him over Contador, because I see nothing challenging (/exciting?) in bringing in a superstar. After all, Riis has a reputation of being able to make riders get results they would never have had the a year or two before (Julich, O'Grady, Sastre etc.) - which is also what makes Cunego interesting, as I think Riis likes a challenge.

I think that Cunego's days as a GC contender are over, but he's an interesting name as a new leader for the hilly classics, and he can support a GC leader in the mountains.

Cunego + Riis? That was my dream about 5 years ago! Cunego, Kreuziger, Pardilla, Kiryienka, Grabovskyy, Kwiatkowski and Nerz are the riders what I would like to see in our team. But it all depends on budget what will have Riis.. |

Cunego would be fantastic. He is also 100% for clean riding. From more than one interview, it looks like he is also very personable which is good for a team.

| I am also voting for Cunego or Kreuziger. I am also thinking Nicolas Roche, but I donīt know about his contract with AG2R. |

How is the contract status on a rider like D. Martin from Garmin? IMO he would be a very interesting signing.
I would also like to see Ciolek on the team. He is so talented, but as all other riders entering Milram he has become waaay worse on that team.
also Niki Terpstra would be nice or how about Taaramae? (but is he clean?)
In order to really understand me you must think |
