Well, no cyclist have been caught (yet!), but the positive case of British rugby player Terry Newton calls out a warning for all athletes world wide: a valid test method for human growth hormone is ready!

I have long suspected HGH and insulin (along with blood doping and equivalents) to be the most wide spread drugs in the peloton. It will be most interesting, when the 2008 and 2009 samples are being testet for HGH!

Thomas Dekker, who was suspended by his then-employer Silence-Lotto on July 1, 2009, for abnormal blood values, has been sanctioned with a two year ban by the Monegasque Cycling Federation. His ban runs out on July 1, 2011.

Thomas Dekker later admitted that he had taken EPO - but only once - and he hopes to return to cycling, when he's legally free to make a comeback.

And, of course, Valverde will take it to the supreme court in Switzerland, instead of just admitting defeat - sometimes cycling sickens me......I hope UCI ban him straight away, instead of this ridicule

Vania Rossi (Riccos girlfriend) has had her B sample come back negative.

I don't recall this happening before, but would assume this should clear a rider.

Yeah, it does - it indicates a polluted sample on either the A or B sample, and that obviously makes the test inconclusive = clear record

Yet again, we have Alessandro Petacchi and Lorenzo Bernucci being mentioned in connection with a doping investigation. Both Italian riders of the Lampre-Farnese Vini team have had their homes searched by Italian police, who are reported to have found the illegal substances albumin and sibutramine in the home of Lorenzo Bernucci, the latter substance similar as the one he was tested positive for in 2007 when riding with the German T-Mobile team. Bernucci has explained that the substances were for his brother and his wife.(...)

It is statements from Emanuele Sella, who is now racing with Carmiooro-NGC after having stood out a one-year suspension following his positive doping samples from an out of competition test performed in July, 2008, that has lead to the investigation against his two fellow countrymen. Petacchi and Bernucci is believed to be connected with trading of illegal substances.

Alessandro Petacchi was in March accused of tax fraud during his time with the German Milram team.

I guess the Lampre-Farnese Vini team are happy that they have already recieved the confirmation that they have been granted a Pro Tour-license for the rest of season, but I suspect they won't find it easier to obtain a Pro Tour-license for the next season following these cases.

And the sad news continues, as RadioShack's Chinese rider Fuyu Li has returned a sample containing the illegal substance Clenbuterol in a test performed in connection with last month's Dwars door Vlaanderen.
